Trails Maps

This map was created by the Trail Committee of the Quadra Island Recreation Society. The images below are a crude scan of one side of the map. The back side of the map contains descriptions of 16 trails.

During the COVID-19 pandemic the Trails Committee map is available on line at  https://www.quadrarec.bc.ca/current-program?fbclid=IwAR2CgFfSXcXx-A_O6nzjhUaJPLHwBNoeqlgSAQY46bCPfDvv2mWN3cXGleg

The northern 2/3 of Quadra Island does not have cell phone service. As a result you will not be able to use maps which require an Internet connection, like Google Maps and Apple Maps. There are a number of apps that can download and store maps on your Android or Apple cell phone for you to use when you cannot connect to the Internet.

Also you can go to Viewranger.com and use their topographic and trails map of Quadra Island, which shows roads, streets, mountain bike trails and hiking trails, via the link below. This is in fact the best trails map by far for Quadra Island. It is also the best for roads and streets.

The Quadra Island general information website also has a trails map which can be accessed with the following link:

A new map of Quadra Island’s Streets and Roads was compiled late in 2020 by a qualified, resident Quadra geographer, and is here, below, available as a pdf,  free for viewing and downloading into phones and other devices.  it makes finding your way around Quadra’s residential areas easier than before.

 MOUNTAIN BIKING

YES!  Mountain biking is very popular on Quadra Island trails. The trails around the community center are easy to bike, flat, not very rough, and make popular trails for beginners and those bikers who just want relaxing riding in the forest. Around Morte Lake, and North Gowland Harbour Road, and Nugedzi Lake are the biking trails for the experts. Biking trails such as BACKSEAT DRIVER offer thrills and spills for more-experienced bikers. The map of the biking trails is found at:

https://www.trailforks.com/region/quadra-island-10401/

Many bikers simply bike the easier established hiking trails, such as The Morte Lake Trail.
