There is a trail which goes from the main Surge Narrows road at the southeast corner of Main Lake, northwest along the lake’s north shore for 15 minutes to the Camp Homewood campsite. From here the trail continues up onto a mountain (name to come). These trails are not officially part of Quadra’s trails system but are kept open and make an interesting hike if you happen to be at Main Lake past this public outhouse beside Main Lake, in Main Lake Provincial Park,

Photo below shows the public outhouse beside the road in Main Lake Provincial Park on Quadra Island.  Just about 100 feet along the road from here, towards Surge Narrows,  you will find the trail going off to your left around the lake. The trail is not sign-posted.
